Unlike common therapies such as steroids, cyclosporines or antihistamines, Apoquel is the only treatment specifically designed to go straight to the source of the itch. When given as directed by your vet, the active ingredient in Apoquel, Oclacitinib, uniquely targets the function of cell proteins to stop itching with minimal negative impact on immune function.
Apoquel 3.6mg tablets are manufactured by Zoeits and are developed specifically for dogs. As such, they must never be used in other animals.
Dosage and Administration:
For oral use. The recommended initial dose is 0.4 to 0.6 mg oclacitinib/kg bodyweight, administered orally, twice daily for up to 14 days or as specified by your vet.
For maintenance therapy, the same dose (0.4 to 0.6 mg oclacitinib/kg bodyweight) should then be administered only once a day. The requirement for long-term maintenance therapy should be based on an individual benefit-risk assessment.
Apoquel can be administered with or without food and the tablets are breakable along the score line.
UK deliveries only.
