WHO ARE WE

John Campbell

Head Veterinary Surgeon and co-founder (BVM&S BSc MRCVS)

I'm the head vet and have been in practice for 30 years. In the early days of my career I worked mostly with farm animals, then for the last 20 years I have been treating all types of domestic pets, large and small.

Over the years I’ve seen every type of pet, in all states of health, inside and out! I've also witnessed first-hand the amazing sacrifices owners make to ensure their pets get the very best treatment, despite having to cope with the ever increasing prices of veterinary drugs.

This is precisely why I helped launch Pet Drugs Online, from the office of my small local veterinary surgery near Bath way back in 2005, to allow clients to dramatically cut their pet health care costs. When we started out, Pet Drugs Online was very much on the side lines for the occasional online shopper. Now, as one of the UK’s biggest suppliers of veterinary medicine, we’re able to help even more pets get the medicines, supplements and foods they need.

Everyone in the team at Pet Drugs on Line is a pet owner and pet lover (my very energetic collie x spaniel 'Tess' is pictured above !). Our aim is simple - to provide the best for your pets, as we do for our own. So let us help you to look after them well!

My background is e-commerce and I’ve been in charge of sites selling everything from skateboards to sideboards. Pet Drugs Online presents my biggest challenge as we’re not selling dreams or life-styles, but life-saving and life-improving essentials for pets that play a pivotal role in peoples’ families – something my two black Labs remind me of every day. So I aim to make sure that we provide you with a fantastic experience from using the site, to great value for money and exceptional service.
Neil Fitzpatrick, Managing Director
Professionally, I’ve come up through the admin side of the veterinary business. Personally though as a cat owning, horse riding and farmer’s wife I can genuinely say that I’m involved with animals 24 hours a day. As such I’ve seen them well, whelping and ill; I know that the last thing you need to worry about is where you're getting your pets’ supplies from. Instead, what you want is for them to be affordable and here yesterday. We can’t do yesterday, but I strive to make sure the team process every order quickly, accurately and get it out the door as soon as possible.
Maria Gibbons, Head Of Operations
I’m the price setting person. Okay, I do more than just set prices, but the single most important thing at Pet Drugs Online is keeping prices as low as possible. That way more pets get the drugs and food they need to stay healthy, owners are happier – and yes I’ll say it out loud - we get more customers. Seems like a win for all involved. I’m supposed to talk about my pets in this bit, but I’m without any at the moment. Not been the right time since I lost my spaniel, Clive.
Gemma Dunn - Online Commercial Manager
The promise of online shopping is to make complicated commercial transactions into a simple step-by-step process, which is why it works so well for pets and their owners. You can order while walking the dog or just as you realise that was the last pill in the bottle. So your pet’s only one post away from anything they need. Even if, like my old boy Ben, they need a copious supply of litter and food that smells like Billingsgate market.
Jon Maddicott, eCommerce Manager
It sounds like a very lovely job title and indeed this is true. I am a very content 'Content Manager'. To stretch this point a tiny bit further, what makes me so contented is that as part of Pet Drugs Online I get to help. Help save money. Help keep pets healthy. Help spread some knowledge and joy to those lucky enough to share their life with a furry friend and to help spread a pro-pet message to those who simply don’t know what they are missing: nine cats. That’s all I’m saying.
Trent Webb, Content Manager
I run the phone team and I'm also the chief trouble shooter for Pet Drugs Online. We take everyday orders, orders that are too tricky to work on the web and solve customer problems. It can be a little stressful yet massively rewarding, because I know that it is all about the pets – and getting them their medicines. I relax of an evening with a horse called Ron, Betty the Jack Russell and a Golden Retriever named Doug - "Doug the dog" never gets old!
Sasha Haynes, Customer Service Manager
Posh London companies would say I'm a "social media guru", but we're a little more practical over here in the West Country! I reach out via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to spread the “Love Them Well” word. This means I have the arduous task of looking through 1,000's of kitten and puppy pictures on a daily basis - it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it! Feila the Jack Russell is my little lady; who joined the family and me in Liepaja, which sounds like a funky new social media platform, but is actually my hometown situated in the south-western part of Latvia.
Sindija Barrios, Digital Executive

Founded in 2005, Pet Drugs Online has grown to become one of the UK's largest, most-trusted, vet-run suppliers of veterinary medication and animal products licensed in the UK. Not only are we one of the UK's largest retailers of pet medication; we're also part of Independent Vetcare Ltd, one of the country's biggest vet groups with over 500 practices.

We are a registered veterinary practice and are governed by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate as well as a voluntary member of our governing bodies Approved Internet Retailer Scheme.

What this means is that you can buy safely from us knowing we are vets, and that every aspect of what we do has been scrutinized by the governing body and government agencies.
