How to tell if your dog is stressed

There are some events such as fireworks and other loud noises which are known to cause anxiety in many dogs, but how about more subtle, environmental changes such as house moves or new pets at home?  What signs should you look for to see if your dog is stressed?

Excessive barking, destructive behaviours, avoidance (of people or other dogs), pinned ears and excessive shedding can all be signs of stress.

As well as medication like Zylkene for dogs, other support you can give your dog are exercise (not just a great stress reliever for humans), routine and rules.

How to tell if your cat is stressed

Excessive behaviours such as grooming or scratching could be a sign your cat is stressed.  Also pay attention to where they toilet.  If your cat usually uses a litter box or a specific area outside, changes to this can be a sign of distress.

Other indications are changes to social behaviour such as aggression towards other animals or people.  And finally a reduction in much-loved sleep is a sign of stress in cats.

If you suspect your cat is suffering from stress or anxiety, try Zylkene for cats.  Other ways you can help are to follow a more normalised routine and play with your cat more.

Speak to your vet if you think your cat or dog is suffering from long-term anxiety.

Its the only treatment that has helped to suppress the skin condition that plagues my Welsh Terrier and has done for years. Since starting to use this product in the Spring of 2017 which was described by my vet as a miracle drug, our dog has a significantly improved quality of life and although not a cure the condition is now manageable and she is a happy dog again. The treatment is combined with daily Piraton tablets and when needed topical cortisone ointment for flare ups but the Zyklene suppresses the flare up symptoms by at least 90% in my estimation.

Calmed my retriever down a lot when fireworks were going off. Does not sedate as such, she just doesn't shake anymore which is a great result. She sat next to me or on her bed whilst fireworks were loud and just looked up when they were at the loudest.
I now start giving her a few tablets on the lead up to firework night and Christmas/New Year, Although so far this year Halloween was the worst so i will bear that in mind next year.

these are brilliant for your cats especially bonfire night and other occasion were u need a bit of peace for the cats

The product is very good. Although having a big dog would have cost a fortune bought from a vet. That is why I am so glad I use Pet Drugs On Line

Brilliant product, can use it ad hoc if something happens to stress the cat or build up the dose over a few days when you know it's fireworks night or movingly home etc. One of my cats loves the tablet and begs for them. Easy to mix in food and they can't smell or taste it.

Natural calming product that helped over the firework season.

Good product but the tablets were quite big - you need a very cooperative pet to swallow them! My cat noticed the taste when i sprinkled on her food instead.

Was advised to use these as the little dog has problems with fireworks, will not cure the problem fully was it certainly help her with the nerves it causes for her.

Given to my dog to help her cope with the firework season. Not a complete cure for her fear of fireworks but definitely helped her. She seemed a lot calmer than without taking Zylkene.

My cat's favourite - brought right to the door.
