Felimazole Tablets 2.5mg
What is Felimazole? Felimazole is for the treatment of hyperthyroidism in cats. It is supplied in 1.25mg, 2.5mg tablets and 5mg tablets and can be sold as individual tablets or packs of 100. Each strength tablet has a different colour sugar coating. The 1.25mg tablets are red, the 2.5mg tablets are pink and the 5mg tablets are orange.
Felimazole Tablets are a prescription item and will be sent once a valid prescription is received. Please follow the instructions given by your vet.
The active ingredient in Felimazole is thiamazole. This can cause haemoconcentration and therefore it is important to make sure your cat has access to plenty of drinking water.
What is hyperthyroidism? Hyperthyoidism (also known as overactive thyroid) is a condition that occurs when the thyroid gland begins to produce an excess amount of the thyroid hormone. Cats with hyperthyroidism tend to burn energy too rapidly and this can result in weight loss, despite the increase in appetite. This condition is very common in older cats.
Fortunately, the majority of cats that develop hyperthyroidism can be treated successfully and make a complete recovery.
The most common signs of hyperthyroidism are:
. Weight loss
. Increased appetite
. Increased thirst
. Increased heart rate.
The recommended starting dose for the long term treatment of hyperthyroidism is 5mg per day. The dose can then be split and a 2.5mg tablet can be given twice daily but your Vet will advise on what dosage is most appropriate for your cat.
Do not use in pregnant or lactating cats.
Do not use in cats with a hypersensitivity to thiamazole.
Do not break, split or crush tablets.
Do not handle without gloves if pregnant. Pregnant women should also not handle cat litter unless wearing gloves.

I have been using Pet Drugs Online for the last few years. Their medication is always the cheapest I've found, saving me thousands of pounds it would have cost me buying it from the vets. Excellent customer service and delivery as well.
Good service & great value, their savings are a lot more than other online pet drug companies .
Delivery could've been quicker considering it wasn't free.

Thankyou for your feedback. The effipro treatment is a fipronil based treatment which a large number of flea products use. These are effective in killing adult fleas but not the egg or larvae stage. It would be worth either trying frontline plus which will treat all stages of the flea cycle. Or use a household spray to treat the immature stages that are in the home
Kind regards Shirley
