Dechra SPECIFIC® CGD-M Medium Breed Senior Dry Dog Food is recommended for medium-breed senior dogs from 8 years of age. SPECIFIC™ CGD-S Senior Medium Breed is a nutritional aid for support of health in the senior dog.
The moderately reduced protein, Phosphorus and Sodium content reduces the kidneys' workload and supports renal function in senior dogs. The high biological value of the proteins supplies enough essential amino acids to the dog. EPA and DHA are both Omega-3 fatty acids with a beneficial effect on maintaining healthy skin and coat, healthy articular cartilage and normal mobility in joints of senior dogs. The complete, balanced diet has a slightly increased fibre content, resulting in somewhat lower energy content. This supports maintaining ideal body weight in senior dogs with a reduced energy requirement. Taurine and L-Carnitine are added to support the heart muscle function in senior dogs, and beet pulp as a source of fermentable fibres to support beneficial microflora and intestinal health.
