Dechra SPECIFIC® FGW Senior Wet Cat Food has a controlled content of protein and moderately reduced content of phosphorus and sodium this reduces the workload of the kidneys and supports renal functions in senior cats. The high biological value of the proteins supplies the cat with enough essential amino acids.
The added EPA and DHA are both omega-3 fatty acids with a beneficial effect on the maintenance of healthy skin, coat and joints in senior cats. The increased EPA and DHA content can also have a beneficial effect on e.g. renal function, blood pressure, and blood lipids. With moderately reduced level of protein and sodium, the increased level of potassium citrate and the pH around 6.6 discourage the formation of calcium oxalate and support a healthy urinary tract.
With psyllium husk a gel-forming soluble fibre, which absorbs several times its weight in liquid and is known for its beneficial effect on the regulation of the gastrointestinal tract activity.
This diet is not reccomended for kittens, pregnant and lactating queens.
