Dechra SPECIFIC® FGD Senior Dry Cat Food has a controlled content of protein and moderately reduced content of phosphorus and sodium, which reduces the workload of the kidneys and supports renal functions in senior cats. The high biological value of the proteins supplies the cat with enough essential amino acids.
The added EPA and DHA are both Omega-3 fatty acids with a beneficial effect on maintaining healthy skin, coat and joints in senior cats. The increased EPA and DHA content can also benefit, e.g. renal function, blood pressure, and blood lipids. With moderately reduced levels of protein and sodium, the increased level of Potassium Citrate and the pH around 6.6 discourage the formation of Calcium Oxalate and support a healthy urinary tract.
Psyllium husk a gel-forming soluble fibre, which absorbs several times its weight in liquid and is known for its beneficial effect on regulating gastrointestinal tract activity.
This diet is not recommended for kittens, pregnant and lactating queens.
