Kruuse Inhaler Mask for Horses is an inhalation device developed specifically for horses, providing a convenient and effective method of administering metered dose inhaler (MDI) medications directly to the lungs. It is designed for horses suffering from inflammatory respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and recurrent airway obstruction (RAO), commonly known as heaves.
By using standard MDI medications, the Equine Haler helps deliver medicine in particles smaller than 5 microns, allowing treatment to reach the small airways where it is most needed. This targeted delivery method can support effective respiratory management while reducing medication waste.
Developed in Denmark and tested at the Centre for Equine Studies, Animal Health Trust, Newmarket, documented studies have demonstrated that medication administered through the Equine Haler reaches the small airway system.
