Dechra SPECIFIC® FOD-HY Allergen Management Plus Dry Cat Food is recommended for cats with allergic skin diseases caused by atopy, food allergy, flea allergy or any combination of these allergies. Gastrointestinal disorders that are caused by food allergy or intolerance. Inflammatory bowel disease, colitis. Gastrointestinal problems include diarrhoea, vomiting, flatulence caused by malabsorption and maldigestion, EPI, and acute gastroenteritis. Other fatty acid and nutrient-responsive dermatoses. Other fatty acid-responsive inflammatory conditions include colitis, asthma, and arthritis.
Dechra SPECIFIC® FOD-HY Allergen Management Plus Dry Cat Food contains high-quality and highly digestible ingredients, making the diet especially useful for patients with slight intestinal diarrhoea. Uniquely high levels of the Omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, from fish oil and the Omega-6 fatty acid, GLA, from borage oil. These fatty acids can affect the immune response by altering the eicosanoid production. By producing less-inflammatory eicosanoids, EPA, DHA and GLA dampen the hyperresponsive inflammatory response in the skin. The diet is optimal for cats with atopy. Hydrolysed salmon protein has a high digestibility and low allergenicity. A urine pH below 6.4 supports a healthy urinary tract. A complete, balanced diet with recommended nutrient levels to meet the nutrient requirements of growing and adult cats. The diet is, therefore, suitable for kittens.
This diet is not recommended for immuno-deficient cats and cats with coagulation abnormalities.
