Coatex Essential Fatty Acid Supplement

Coatex Essential Fatty Acid Supplement is an diet such as EFAs; as the animal itself is incapable of producing them which allows solutions to dry scaly or itchy skin.

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS- what are they? EFA's are found in all cell membranes and ensure the correct structure and function of the cell, the primary EFA's are the Omega-6 Linoleic Acid (LA) and its derivative Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA); and the Omega-3 Fatty Acids Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) with its derivatives Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docasahexaenoic Acid (DHA) for good health and well being.

Where do these EFAs come from? Linoleic Acid is found in vegetable oils such as corn and sunflower whereas Alpha Linolenic Acid is most commonly found in flaxseed.

Why use COATEX as opposed to other brands? Coatex contains the most up to date scientific blend and is rich in borage oil which contains almost two and a half times as much GLA as traditional oils such as evening primrose.

When should I use COATEX?  Whenever you see signs of EFA deficiency such as a dull coat or dry scaly and itchy skin and gain advice from your local veterinary surgeon before using product.

How do I administer COATEX? Coatex comes in two forms( highly palatable soft gel capsule or a special liquid pump) which delivers in one measure the same contents as one capsule.

Our VetOur vet says... 'This is a feed supplement to help maintain healthy skin and coats in cats and dogs. Your pet cannot produce Essential Fatty Acids itself, so it needs a little help when dry skin problems occur. This treatment comes in capsules or in a pump-action can.'

"I give this 3 times a week to my dogs as they tend to have dry skin with perfect results. The vet did perscribe daily, but I found this was far too much."

"We were adviced by our to put our dog on the fatty acids as he has a dry skin problem and scratches all the time. We were told they'd take about 4 weeks to make any difference, but after only 2 weeks we are noticing a big improvement. The dandruff has almost all gone and he isn't scratching half as much."

"Not sure yet if this does what it’s supposed to as it’s still early days. While my cat doesn’t mind the taste it’s relatively difficult to pump the liquid into her mouth. It a two person job. One to hold and the other to open and pump. It would be much better if the can had a longer applicator which would easily put in her mouth like other liquid medications."
