Calibra Veterinary Diets Struvite Dry Cat Food is a special diet formulation where urinary pH can be lowered (urine acidification), which is one of the factors that prevent the formation of further struvites and supports the dissolution of existing stones.
This diet also dilutes the crystal-forming substances and promotes water intake. By diluting the urine, RSS (relative supersaturation) mineral levels can be reached to enable existing struvites to dissolve.
Instructions
It is recommended that advice from a veterinarian be sought before use and before extending the period of use.
Recommended length of time: for struvite dissolution is 5 to 12 weeks, for reduction of struvite stone recurrence, initially up to 6 months.
Feed the food dry or slightly moistened. Water should be available at all times.
