
Vitamin K1 Tablets for Dogs 50mg are for the treatment of anticoagulant poisoning, following parenteral treatment.
Vitamin K1 Tablets are for dogs that are known to, or suspected consumption of the anticoagulant poison - a type of rodent poison. Anticoagulant poisons cause internal bleeding. Vitamin K1 is able to counteract the effects of the poison. They need to be given over a period of time while the poison might be active within the dog.
Always consult your veterinarian before treating with Vitamin K1 Tablets, treatment depends on the amount and generation of rodenticide ingested.
Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
5mg phytomenadione per kg bodyweight per day, corresponding to 1 tablet per 10kg bodyweight per day, once a day, for 21 days, in accordance with the following
Dogs under <2.5kg give quarter of a tablet
Dogs from 2.5kg - 5kg give half a tablet
Dogs from 5kg - 7.5kg give 3 quarters of a tablet
Dogs from 7.5kg - 10kg give 1 tablet
Dogs over 10kg - gve quarter of a tablet per 2.5kg
Preferably use in non-fasted animals. Oral treatment should be undertaken within 12 hours after the end of the emergency treatment by the intravenous route.
