How to Send Your Client's Prescription
We process thousands of prescriptions every day for our customers, and we can do the same for your clients too. Send your client's prescription direct to us in just 3 steps:
1. Create the Prescription
Make sure that you sign and date the prescription either by printing out a paper copy, or by electronically signing and locking an editable PDF.
2. Save a Digital Copy of the Prescription
Once you’ve signed the prescription, either scan the paper version to upload a digital copy or create a copy of the editable PDF prescription. Make sure you copy all pages of the prescription.
3. Send us The Prescription by Email
Once you have a digital copy, attach all the necessary pages to an email addressed to our specific prescription inbox, prescriptions@petdrugsonline.co.uk. Ensure you include the web order number (should start with a “2”) or the customer order number (should start with “S”) in the subject line.
That’s all there is to it!
Our compliance team will then check the prescription against the client’s order. Prescription approval can take up to two working days. If there are any issues during this process, a member of our team will reach out to you for confirmation before the client’s order can be dispatched
Additional Information
Can Pet Drugs Online Supply Medicines to Customers in Northern Ireland
Unfortunately, not.
As of the 1st January 2026, retailers in Great Britain can no longer supply veterinary medicines to Northern Ireland following the announcement in June 2025 of new laws to safeguard the supply of veterinary medicines to Northern Ireland. More information about this change and why it's been implemented can be found on the Veterinary Medicines Directorate website.
Animal owners can still purchase non-medicine products via the Pet Drugs Online website.
How do you process prescriptions?
We have a team of agents that process prescriptions, add them to our system and make sure they are assigned to the correct animal and order. We also have a Compliance team that includes a group of vets who check all the POM-V orders.
