Thyforon 400 (0.4mg) is a flavoured tablet and is for the treatment for hypothyroidism in dogs.
Hypothyroidism is a common disease in dogs and is when the thyroid does not produce enough hormones (under-active thyroid). The thyroid gland is a small gland situated close the larynx (voice box) in the neck. The main function of the thyroid gland is to regulate metabolism by producing thyroid hormones.
The disorder normally affects mid to large breed dogs between the ages of 4-10 years. It is also more common in dogs that are neutered.
