FAQs:

Q - What are the side effects of Clavaseptin in dogs?

A - In rare cases, vomiting or diarrhoea may be observed in a pet being treated with Clavaseptin tablets. The severity of this can vary and it is down to your vet’s discretion as to whether treatment should be ceased.

In very rare cases, pets may have an allergic reaction to the Clavaseptin tablets which can show themselves as skin reactions or anaphylaxis. In this case, the use of Clavaseptin should be stopped and you should seek further advice from your vet.

Q - How long does it take for Clavaseptin to work in dogs?

A - Clavaseptin starts working very quickly and you should begin to see results in your pet’s condition within 12-24 hours after starting treatment. Remember, your pet still needs the full course of treatment, even if their condition seems to be improving. By stopping treatment early, you run the risk of reinfection or the bacteria building up resistance to antibiotics.

Q - Do you need a prescription for Clavaseptin?

A - Yes. Clavaseptin is a prescription-only medication for use in treating infections in cats and dogs. Always be wary of anywhere offering to sell prescription medication without a prescription and only buy from an accredited veterinary retailer.
