Liquivite is a liquid food, in the form of a creamy chicken soup. Essential vitamins and minerals are added, at levels suitable for animals under stress. Liquivite contains fish oil, supplying Omega 3 fatty acids, and a prebiotic to promote beneficial bacteria.
This is ideal to help feed cats with poor appetites or fussy feeders. Being a soup it offers variety, a change from the usual canned or dry foods. When a cat does not drink enough, Liquivite offers a way of maintaining liquid intake and can help ensure that your cat has enough.
For kittens, Liquivite makes an ideal weaning food, introducing meat into their diet, but in a familiar liquid form. Liquivite also appeals to the older cat, those who are not as able to eat solid foods as readily.
Liquivite is used by veterinary surgeons to both feed and rehydrate the sick, post-operative and convalescent cats to aid recovery. It is smooth enough for syringe-feeding when appetite is absent, and easily consumed when appetite returns.
Instructions
Amounts to feed reflect Liquivite's higher moisture content and its role in re-hydrating as well as feeding the sick cat. Introduce at 100g per kg of bodyweight; increase by 50% as appetite returns.
Shake can well before opening.
Once opened, use within 24 hours, refrigerating any unused portion. Return to room temperature before feeding.
Liquivite also freezes well, allowing its use over a period of time, for example where small daily amounts are needed for the weaning kitten. Freeze Liquivite in serving-size amounts. When required, defrost and allow to return to room-temperature, stir well, and feed as normal.
