Ketostix® Reagent Test Strips for Urinalysis provide a quick, efficient and convenient way of testing for the presence and concentration of ketone (Acetoacetic Acid) in your pets urine. When present in the urine, this substance provides information relating to carbohydrate and fat metabolism and reacts with the chemicals on the Ketostix® Reagent Strips in order to indicate the presence of ketones.
Testing your pets urine can alert you to changes in your animal's condition that may require adjustments to diet or medication.
DO NOT change any diets or medications without consulting your vet.
Instructions
Ketostix is a dip-and-read method of testing.
Before using the test, avoid touching the reagent area of the test strip with your fingers or any other object
- Collect fresh urine specimen in a clean, non contaminated, dry container
- Hold the reagent area of the testing stick into a urine sample
- Compare the colour of the testing area to the colour samples on the side of the bottle to determine the results
