Hill’s W/D Diabetes Care Prescription Diet Dog Food meets the needs of diabetic dogs with healthy weight or that are slightly overweight. The fat level in W/D has been increased bringing new benets for such dogs.

Nutrition plays a major role in managing diabetes. By minimising blood glucose uctuations, making insulin therapy easier to manage. Managing weight helps regulate blood glucose levels through low levels of rapid glucose-releasing carbohydrate. Hill’s W/D Diabetes Care contains total sugars (mono- and disaccharides) ≤ 62 g/kg complete feed with a moisture of 12% and carbohydrates level have been lowered by (-6.4% DM).
It has an optimal blend of soluble & insoluble bre and is now formulated with mixed cereals including whole grain (wheat, barley, oats). This food also helps dogs maintain lean muscle mass through high-quality protein (protein level increased +4% DM) and has an effective L-carnitine level of greater than 325 mg/kg DM

It is important that diabetic dogs maintain a healthy body weight. To achieve this W/D Diabetes Care has seen fat levels increase by 4% (using fish oils) to help dogs maintain an appropriate level of fat. Similarly, the metabolisable energy has been increased by +240 kcal DM, so it contains and appropriate level of calories and remain ideal for weight maintenance

Enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids from sh oil, new W/D also helps break the cycle of inammation associated with obesity and diabetes. While Clinically proven antioxidants to supports a healthy immune system and helps combat oxidative stress diabetes mellitus promotes.

In the majority of cases this is simply cosmetic damage and the contents are unaffected. If you see a dented tin on delivery, just give it a quick once over and if you can't see any leaks the can's unpunctured - the food will be fine. Light (usually non-food) orders under £29 are charged £2.99 postage. Heavy (typically food) orders under £29 are charged £4.49 postage.


For Light items (under 2kg) our standard method is Royal Mail 2nd Class Tracked (there are a few exceptions, so if in doubt check our Delivery page).

To get it faster you can upgrade Light items to Royal Mail 1st Class Tracked or a Guaranteed Courier service, Saturday Courier or even before 12 noon services. There's a small fee, but if you're in a hurry they are worth considering. There is no standard Saturday courier delivery.

Heavy items weighing 2kg and more are sent via courier. If your order is urgent, please place it before noon Monday to Thursday to ensure you receive it as quickly as possible. Heavy items ordered after 12 Noon Friday, or anytime Saturday and Sunday will be dispatched on normal working days.

Please note that if you are purchasing a mix of Light and Heavy items at the same time, these will be sent separately. The Heavy items being sent by Courier, the Light items by Royal Mail 2nd Class Tracked.
