My cat has kidney disease and has been prescribed this specialist diet to manage her condition. Amazingly, she absolutely loves this food. My only criticism (if you can call it that) is that there isn't enough gravy with the meat! My cat tends to drink most of the gravy first, which makes the meat seem a little less appetising to her, although she does finish all the food I give her.
It's quite expensive even from Pet Drugs Online considering the sachet size. The food doesn't look really very appetizing and it's been difficult to wean a 16/17 year old cat off decent looking food with lots of varieties to this which is only available in Tuna, Chicken and Beef. Our cat's teeth are not really good now and a dry food wouldn't be appropriate. Wish I could find another better Renal product.
My elderly cat was started on this in hospital and we were told to carry on with the renal diet, luckily he has still got an appetite for it.
Unfortunately cat refused to eat the renal food even after being on 'appetite pills' and nearly starving
