Incurin Tablets 1mg

Incurin is a round, single-scored tablet and is for the treatment of hormone-dependent urinary incontinence in dogs (bitches). It is supplied in 1mg tablets, either individually or in packs of 30.

The active ingredient is Estriol which is a short-acting, natural oestrogen. It increases the resting muscle tone of the urethra and therefore, helps with urinary control.

Hormone-responsive incontinence is most common in female dogs and also in neutered dogs. Older dogs tend to be more prone to this condition but in spayed females, the problem can occur from as young as 3 years of age.

Incurin Tablets are a prescription item and will be sent once a valid prescription is received. Please follow the instructions given by your vet.

How long does Incurin take to work? 93% of dogs treated with Incurin are continent or showing signs of improvement within 6 weeks.

Unlike other medications, the dose of Incurin will not depend on the weight of your dog. All dogs should receive an initial dose of 2mg (two tablets) once daily for a minimum of 14 days. Once the urinary incontinence is controlled, the dose can be decreased until the lowest effective dose is obtained. This can be done by dropping from 2mg, to 1mg then 0.5mg. There needs to be at least 7 days in between these changes. The dose can be further decreased to every other day if appropriate for your dog.

The most common side effects associated with Incurin is loss of appetite, vomiting, excessive drinking and swollen vulva.

Do not use in infant bitches.

Do not use during pregnancy or lactation.

Incurin is a prescription item and will be sent once a valid prescription is received.
