The formula paste contains glutamine peptide, a stable natural source of the amino acid glutamine. One of its main functions is to provide fuel for rapidly dividing gut cells such as mucosal immune cells and epithelial enterocytes.
In stress situations and catabolism, mucosal cells and lymphoid tissue in the gut utilise glutamine to help maintain the integrity of the mucosa and reduce bacterial translocation to the mesenteric lymph nodes.
