Vetoryl Capsules 60mg

Vetoryl Capsules is for the treatment of Cushing's disease (pituitary-dependent and adrenal-dependent hyperadrenocorticism) in dogs.

It is a hard capsule supplied in 10mg, 30mg, 60mg and 120mg.It is sold individually or in packs of 30.

Vetoryl Capsules are a prescription item and will be sent once a valid prescription is received. Please follow the instructions given by your vet.

What is Cushings Disease? Cushings disease is the overproduction of the hormone "cortisol" by the adrenal glands (located near the kidneys). It is one of the most commonly endocrine disorders to affect dogs and normally occurs as a result of a tumour (normally benign). The most common signs of this disease include hair loss, increased appetite and drinking. Due to the excessive amounts of cortisol in the body, it suppresses the body's immune system and increase the risk of contracting bacterial infections. The most common location of the infection is the bladder.

Vetoryl is the only licensed medication to help manage cushings disease. Trilostane, the active ingredient, helps to reduce the production of cortisol. This medication is normally a life-long treatment as there is currently no cure for cushings disease.

During the early stages of therapy, your dog should be closely monitored to ensure the dose is correct and can be altered if required.

It is always best to give Vetoryl in the morning with food so it can be easily absorbed.

Do not use in dogs less than 3kg in bodyweight.

Do not use in animals suffering from primary hepatic disease and/or renal insufficiency.

Always wash hands after handling the medication. Do not handle if pregnant or are planning to become pregnant.

This is a prescription item and will be sent once a valid prescription is received.

A good idea. Drugs from vets practices are very expensive. Presume they derive some benefit from this company which as I understand it, is operated by a group of veterinary practices.
