Royal Canin Vet Diet Cat Food: Urinary SO Wet
Royal Canin Feline Urinary Pouches are particularly indicated in cases of recurrent idiopathic cystitis. Because of its inhibition of formation of both struvite and oxalate crystals, Urinary S/O Feline is the first-line diet of choice prior to crystal identification. This diet is intended for long-term use and it is particularly important to ensure that Urinary S/O Feline is the cat's only food source, as access to other foods may trigger recurrence of urolithiasis.
It is available in 48 x 100g chicken and beef sachets and 12 x 195g chicken tins.
Key benefits of Urinary Cat Food:
- Struvite dissolution - urinary S/O Feline effectively dissolves struvite stones
- Urine dilution - diluting urine decreases the urinary concentration of struvites and calcium oxalates. The larger urinary volume also ensures regular bladder wash out
- Low RSS - undersaturated urine is an environment where crystals cannot proliferate and so is unfavourable to the formation of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals
- Bladder support - glycosaminoglycans (GAG) are naturally present on the healthy bladder mucosa but decrease in idiopathic cystitis. This causes increased permeability of the bladder to bacteria, toxins and ions, resulting in bladder inflammation and stimulation of pain sensitive receptors. Reduced level of magnesium, a natural component of struvite crystals
Ingredients: Meat and animal derivatives (including chicken 5%), cereals, oils and fats, eggs and egg derivatives, derivatives of vegetable origin, minerals, molluscs and crustaceans, various sugars.
Please note that tins made of very thin metal can dent very easily as a result. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that tins are packaged as best as possible, some occassionally get dented in transit. This is cosmetic only and should not affect use.

My cat suffers from feline idiopathic cystitis and has to have special food, this is the only one he will eat.
Although it only comes in 2 flavours, my cat has never got bored with this food - and he has been on it for a year now. He loves the smell and really relishes the gravy.
