What is Atopica Oral Solution?

Atopica Oral Solution is for treatment of signs of chronic allergic dermatitis (a form of allergic skin disease)  in cats and chronic manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs. Atopica for cats and dogs is clinically proven to reduce itchy skin and also provides long-term relief from symptoms without the use of steroids.

How Does Atopica Work?

The active ingredient in Atopica is Ciclosporin, an immunomodulatory  drug commonly used to treat atopic dermatitis in dogs and allergic dermatitis in cats.

Ciclosporin suppresses your pet’s reaction to allergic triggers offering relief from symptoms of atopic dermatitis. However, as an immunosuppressant, pet’s can be left more open to infections when taking Atopica treatments. Please see the product information sheet for further information on this.

Atopica may also be prescribed to treat other conditions caused by an immune system response, such as hemolytic anaemia, perineal fistula, and keratoconjunctivitis sicca. However, you should only give Atopica to treat the condition diagnosed by your vet.
